La pauvre femme essaye désespérément de convaincre ses assaillants en leur envoyant des messages de paix, des messages sous formes de belles hirondelles. Les gardes tuent ces oiseaux, mais ils ne sont que des messagers, les tuer ne fera qu'accroitre la conviction de la femme, qui résiste jusqu'au bout. Les paroles sont un message de liberté, elles portent également un appel à l'émancipation : Il faut assumer ses différences et s'accrocher à ses convictions et ne pas se conformer malgré la pression que peuvent exercer les autres.
