Strangers in the Night est un album studio de 1966 de Frank Sinatra. Il a marqué le retour de Sinatra au premier rang des albums de pop au milieu des années 1960 et a consolidé le retour qu'il a commencé en 1966. Combinant des succès pop avec des airs et des standards, l'album crée un équilibre entre instrumentation big band et pop. Le single "Strangers in the Night" a également atteint la première place sur les charts pop simples, tandis que "Summer Wind" deviendrait progressivement un classique, utilisé dans les publicités télévisées et les entrées d'humeur dans les années 2000.
Aux Grammy Awards de 1967, Sinatra a remporté deux Grammy pour ses efforts sur cet album, y compris le Record of the Year de la chanson titre, ainsi que Best Male Vocal Performance pour la même chanson. (Il a également remporté un nouveau Grammy la même année, l’album de l’année pour A Man and His Music). L'arrangement d'Ernie Freeman sur le titre lui a valu le Grammy Award du meilleur arrangement accompagné d'un chanteur ou d'un instrumentiste.
Ceci est le dernier album de Sinatra joué avec un arrangeur / chef d'orchestre de longue date, Nelson Riddle, et son orchestre.
Strangers in the Night a été certifié platine pour un million d'exemplaires vendus aux États-Unis. C'est le seul album Sinatra "régulier" à atteindre cette marque (les autres ont été les meilleurs albums / albums de compilation, les albums de Noël ou les albums "Duets" de fin de carrière).
