The Do est un duo franco-finlandais composé de Dan Lévy et d'Olivia B. Merilahti. Tous deux se sont rencontrés en travaillant sur la B.O du film L'Empire des loups du réalisateur Chris Nahon.
Le duo a sorti son premier album en janvier 2007 intitulé A Mouthful dans lequel on retrouve des sonorités pop, folk, rap ou rock. Un carton commercial.
Mais The Dø était trop férocement indépendant et audacieux pour se contenter d’une copie carbone. La paire s’est donc lancée dans une nouvelle aventure. En 2011 sort l'inattendu Both Ways Open Jaws. De la primale Slippery Slope à l’électronique folle de B.W.O.J., une brillante messe sombre, brute autant que raffinée, préhistorique et civilisée à la fois.
Il se passe, dans les interstices de la belle Dust It off, des amères et majestueuses Gonna Be Sick ! ou Too Insistent, dans les ombres changeantes de The Wicked & the Blind ou Bohemian Dances, dans les arrangements veloutés de Was It a Dream ? beaucoup de choses qui semblent n’appartenir qu’à une religion inédite. A laquelle on s’est définitivement converti.
