Michael Jackson nous parle d'une fille qui prétend qu'il est le père de son enfant et il plaide son innocence « the kid is not my son ». Il n'y a jamais eu de vraie Billie Jean, mais c'est une image de toutes les filles qui leur ont « empoisonné » la vie à lui et ses frères pendant des années, comme il le dit lui-même.
Billie Jean est une chanson de Michael Jackson parue sur l'album Thriller en 1982, puis sortie sur un 'single' en janvier 1983. Cette chanson fut un succès commercial, restant sept semaines d'affilée en tête du Billboard Hot 100 et neuf semaines en tête du classement R&B. Billie Jean fut sacrée 58e meilleure chanson de tous les temps par le magazine Rolling Stone. Le single est ressorti en juillet 2009 en version numérique appelée Digital 45 identique au 45 tours sorti en 1983, disponible sur les plates-formes de téléchargement.
